I’m sorry to announce that the Pig Roast has been CANCELLED due to lack of interest. With less than 5 days until the event only 33 tickets have been sold but we needed more like 80 tickets sold in order to cover expenses and generate a modest profit for our land acquisition fund.

Refunds will be issued to everybody who already purchased tickets. Stay tuned for details.

On a personal note I am very disappointed that we had to cancel this event. The pig roast has always been a popular event and a great time. Those of us who have been involved with the Pig Roast since the beginning are scratching our heads trying to understand how membership can be at an all time high yet here we find ourselves forced to cancel the event.

Your feedback on what went wrong is strongly encouraged. Hopefully the Pig Roast will return for 2017.

This might be my favorite event of the year.

So are we doing same format as last year with being able to stay overnight ? Did not see anything on the post to elude to that. Any interest in taking some of the pork and doing a second cook in sauce Carolina style for a late night snack ? Just thinking out loud.

Keep in mind the landowner asks nothing of us to stay overnight, however in years past I’ve collected $10 pp per night as a good gesture and give back to the farm

Not able to make it this year… :frowning: We are having a steak fry for my son’s football team on the same day.

Only 27 tickets sold compared to over 50 last year at this time. We need to sell another 40-50 tickets in the next couple days.

Just an idea. It looks like that we will be loosing money by paying everyone back. if you think of the we pay fee. I don’t know what the land owner charges us. We can do a low budget cook out. For the tix we did sell. Food and fire pit. Doesn’t sound to bad. What’s your all think.
