Hi , looking for the factory name of yellow thats on the Valve cover on some of those 4.0 engines . I was looking all night last night and kinda got nowhere

I am guessing you are talking about the cast aluminum, aftermarket valve cover?

It might be aftermarket , but it caught me eye

then after finding the name of that color , since the valve cover is painted that textured black look ,
what to strip it with ? beed blast it / what would you do ?

I would bead blast to get a clean surface or send it to powder coat .

yea , gotta replace the gasket anyways , so I thought a new color in the engine bay …

so , what color yellow is that ?

not sure what shade yellow, there is a company in NorthProvidence R.I., Innovative Coatings Technologies, phone # 401-477-6204 they do powder coating. I have never used them but they are local. callem & see how much $ to do it. they will blast it to befor powder coating. there are lots of color choices .

I have that yellow aftermarket valve cover…i spray bombed it black before i installed it… lol. Fwiw those valve covers are aound $100 which is what it would prob end up costing to have one powdercoated the right way.

Last time i was at the crown store in canton jeff had some there.

I’m pretty good with sand paper , bucket of gasoline , wire brush’s , sandpaper , etc…
and a can of spray paint :sunglasses:
