WTB Rear Control arms for ZJ

Hello all… Looking for long rear control arms (upper & lower) for my daughters 96 ZJ…

If you need stock replacements then Jeff @ Crown is your man.

We are looking for something longer then stock… My son in-law has installed a “Frankenstein” lift and now we need longer control arms to push the axle back so the drive shaft will fit and to center the axle…

Sounds like your son-in-law has done something bad. Unless there is some stupid amount of lift the stock driveshaft should fit no problem.

With short arm lift the last thing you want to do is center the axle. The front of the rear tire should be as close to the front of the wheel well as possible. If not then it will crash into the body under full bump. The following pictures should make the point clear:

Thanks for the info Eric… I will let him know… I dont know enough about this stuff myself yet. We may need someone to take a peek at it and tell us whats wrong…

Forget the control arms… Now we need a 33" driveshaft…

If the lift amounts to more than 2-3 inches then you need adjustable control arms or else vibration will be an issue.

The stock rear driveshaft length is good to 5"+ of lift.

Cockcroft in East Providence can lengthen/shorten the driveshaft if necessary.

Thanks again for info Eric… everything somewhat fell into place. It wasn’t a kit lift, it was different parts that he was able to put together… Thats why I call it a Frankenstein lift… lol

I am still looking for longer rear upper control arms got a really bad drive line vibration. need to correct pinion angle

looking for 14 to 15 inch bolt to bolt long arms with 2 inch bushings

DO NOT waste time and money on fixed length control arms.

Crown Automotive in Canton, MA can set you up with reasonably priced entry level adjustable control arms. Alternatively, go to Clayton Offroad for top of the line equipment.

building on a cheep budget. cant afford more the 100 bucks for control arms

If any one has a set of adjustable rear control arms I still need them at least upper but prefer full set.
