v8 Swap

I have a friend looking have a V8 put in a 2006 TJ Rubicon.
They are looking to see if there is shop somewhere that could handle it and have it done right.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

What kind of v8? Pretty sure they sell a bolt in kit for the 5.7 hemi

Does he want it to pass emissions and how much is he looking to spend?

Generally speaking, the engine would need to be the same year as the vehicle or newer to keep it emission legal. The cost to swap in a 2006+ V8 could easily top $20k for a professional installation.

I’m not aware of any shops that specialize in these swaps but places such as Elias 4x4 or Smiths 4x4 might quote the job.

He might consider other options such as stroking and/or supercharging the 4.0. Way more bang for buck.

Turned on my Google fu and found this:

jeepspeedshop.com/index.php? … Itemid=172

$12,800 for a turn-key hemi conversion if they do the work and keep your old engine/tranny. I’d say this is bottom dollar and the price goes up to hire a shop that does not specialize in these conversions to do the job.

Definitely give Smiths 4X4 a call talk to Chris Jr and let him know
Your with the club.

Thanks I will pass on the Information
