So ive been having issues with killing CV shaft centering bearings on the rear of the red TJ. After the last round of issues i ended up installing a new factory trans mount and everything worked great.
Recently the rear driveshadt was making a thumping noise and i remebered the trans mount issue. I figure with the 3.5"-4" of lift, the Clayton Tummy Tuck skid, no motor mount lift plus the fact that the 8.8 is a little offset from the tail end of the tcase. All of that was putting extra stress on the driveshaft. I got word of this trans mount that will lower the drivetrain an inch, so i went with it.
All in all the install wasnt to difficult. The hardest part was dropping the skid and crossmember. I had to remodify my exhaust mount because i shortened it after i put tue belly up skid on. So far so good. Feels solid and stable. Its probably the nicest its driven since ive owned it. Although having to install all new ball joints and a bearing hub to pass inspection helps too. Here are some pics of the install.
