I have a 98 TJ and my Tcase is starting to show signs of excessive wear. Before I lose it on a trail someplace I am considering a 231 to 241j swap. I still drive this rig on the road but it is not my primary vehicle. I am looking for thoughts and suggestions.
Why not just rebuild the 231?
^ because the 241:
1.) has a 4:1 low range
2.) is considerably stronger
If you don’t already have the 241J then good luck finding one for under $1,500. At that point might as well spring for an Atlas!!!
Thanks, My design concierge already told me not to waste my time with a NP241 and go straight to the Atlas.

Check out Jb conversions they offer a bunch of options to upgrade the np231j.
