Tire help! 33s? Wheels? UGH

Hey guys! I’m new here, just submitted my application can’t wait to see you on the trails! Just got my Jeep ‘13 JK and still learning A LOT… And confused as hell. I’ve researched for HOURS so far.
*Advice on any one of the many questions below is SO appreciated, for those willing to really help, I’ll buy you a 6-pack when I meet you on the trails.

Long story short… Buying new wheels/tires and asking for sizing help.
My Lifestyle:
-85% basic roads
-5% Highway
-10% LIGHT off road (for now), maybe Medium? Not advanced while this is still my daily driver.
-On a tight budget… aren’t we all? Haha

-Found Trail Master TM210 17x9 wheels for $99 each (whatta steal!)
—Are these totally shitty or will they work?
—Is 17x9 a nice universal size for any tires 31”-35” diameter and 10”-12.5” deep? Might change tires in future but want to keep these wheels for a few years at least

-Looking into gently used or new 32”-34” tires. Width 10.5”-12”?
—No lift yet (still on extended warranty, ew)
—Hoping for AT
—Thinking maybe I just buy a cheap set to get me buy for 1-2 years so I can buy ones I really want when I save up

-Backspacing and Offset…
—If I know backspace and offset for wheels… how do I calculate how far the tire will stick out past the fender?
—Thinking about buying flat and wide fenders so I can pass inspection (would this work?) Also so it looks awesome and gives more room for any flex with larger tires before I get my lift.
—What diameter/width/spacing do I have to start worrying about rubbing or internal damage with no lift and no spacers?

Penny for your thoughts? >>6-pack(s) for your thoughts. HELP!

The price of those wheels seem too good to be true. . .

Tires:
I would recommend BFG All Terrain KO2 either 285-70R17 (33x11) or 305-65R17 (33x12). Be sure to get the Load Range C. Both sizes also come in Load Range E which are intended for 1 ton trucks and will SUCK on a Jeep. General Grabber AT2 would be another good choice. They have 33x12.5x17 in Load Range C and are a bit cheaper then the BFG’s.

Wheels:
Stock wheels are 7.5" wide with 6.25" backspacing thus the outside edge of the wheel sits 1.25" outboard from the Wheel Mounting Surface (WMS). Those TM wheels are 9" wide with 4.75" backspacing thus the outside edge of the wheel will sit 4.25" outboard from the WMS.

I think you would be fine inspection wise with any of the above.

Can’t go wrong with the BFG. I’ve had sets go 80k with a ton of highway driving.

I agree with Derrick and Eric about the bfg, I have been running 33’s for two years and no problem with inspections.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out. I looked into the wheels and they are steel… no wonder why they were cheap! I think I’ll be trying the tires you recommended when my tax return comes back (geez tires are expensive).

Hopefully I get accepted as a member soon! What’s your favorite 6 pack? See you on the trails!! [emoji1308]

Thank you both! Sounds like 33s will actually happen - can’t wait! Hope to see you on the trails too!! Favorite 6 pack???

Oh no worries. You will be happy with them till you want to go bigger…
