Anyone done this before, I have 4 beads to seat and am not fimilliar with it.
Ya. I worked at a shop that did a lot of really low profile tires.
What were you wondering about it?
How much lol
Run a ratchet strap around the circumference and inflate it. For that matter, if your compressor has a big enough tank you should be able to seat it with just an air chuck.
remove the valve in the valve stem then spray once around the inside of the tire and up the outside of the side wall then ligght a peace of paper on fire and drop on the side wall and watch out lol then apply air to the tire to keep it from un-seating as it will draw in.
WEAR SAFETY GLASSES and keep hands clear once you spray the starting fluid.
Unless you are looking for a Darwin Award don’t use starter fluid. I’ve seated countless beads doing exactly like I said above.
But… but… fire!
Don’t get me wrong, I love flirting with disaster. . .
Just thinking we could practice this valuable skill for a time we may need it.
I’ll watch you practice. I’ll even shoot it on video.
Were going to need someone standing by to put me out so you dont have to put the camara down. “It looked easy on youtube”.
were u live?
Tiverton.
ik its late but if you need any tires done i could do it at my shop in west warwick…
Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, I have been having issues with my phone. Tge tires are still not mounted so I would tale you up on that if the offer still stands. Thanks
I’ve actually done it. It works pretty good. Just don’t go crazy with the starting fluid. Sometimes if the beads are too close together they won’t seat with air and you have to use starting fluid.
