Pulling trigger on roof job. Nail gun & compressor needed

I agree! Tommy Silva, from this old house, does just that. lookin’ good Eric!

i would be worried about creating a vapor barrier and trapping moisture under the roof and in the attic space. i can swing by tomorrow am and lug some shingles if you want. just let me know when your starting.

Almost done. Had about 1/3 of the cap done when it got dark today. It took alot longer than I thought it would to cut whole shingles into capping. The last row of shingles wraps around 3"-4" so I just nailed it down. That should hold it until Saturday.

It came out OK. Rows are reasonably straight. I worked out from a masons line marking the center but eyeballed the shingles that were centered over the center line so you can see some misalignment in the vertical lines. No big deal.

as long as it doesn’t leak is all that matters when its not someone else s house

Dun! TFG.

NICE JOB! nothing like the satisfaction( and $$$ saved) doing the job yourself. …AJ

looks good, now come over and do mine

do you have gable vents for the attic?

Yes, gable vents. There are also vents under the eaves. Next spring I will do the other side and might consider ridge vents. Not sure if its really worth it though?

it depends on how the space is insulated. usually, if you have eve vents, you would use a ridge vent.
