Project Mean Machine

So this is the last time I’m starting a Jeep build thread. This Jeep will Be my last one for a very long time. Finally got my garage cleared out and the Jeep in it. Started taking off the front end. The frame is mint and body as well.

Question. I have zero paper work on this body. So I can as thinking I could find a CJ that is in a junk yard, pop the vin plate and maybe get a bill of sale and last registration. I’m not sure the best way to go about this.

do you know anyone that is a dealer i think they can give you paper work to get it registered

Register as antique. no vin check needed.

BTW Vin is stamped on frame, passenger side rear above the rear axle

Got the CJ broken down even more today. Almost to the point where I can start preparing the frame.

matt swapping vins is highly illegal… it looks like the area where the vin is mounted on your body is rotted out…i think you might need to repair that spot with a new panel from another cj

get a bill of sale from a friend from Mass. with the year make , model and vin. , then register it in RI .
worked for me 15 years ago :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

that was 15 years ago … try it anyways , all they can say is no.

Acquired a 14 Bolt out of a CUCV. Already geared to 456 with Detroit locker.
