Can basiclly new tires be to old ?? Still have ink on them.
all tires made in the past 10-20 years have a DOT date code on them, if memory serves its the 52 weeks of the year followed by the year. I think people start getting weary of mounting tires that are over 7 years old due to concern about dry rot etc but you can always find someone to mount them…
It does it says 44 04. I bought them mounted but they basically have nubs on them. Seem to drive fine. Well see
The date code is 44th of 2004, but if they were stored and never used the studs can still be on them.
Date Code information. All tire suppliers have to provide this in some way. Due to Firestone / Ford lawsuits that also created the TPMS push.

Don’t go by the date code, a visual inspection is the only way to know if they are any good or not.
Tire manufacturers do not recommend running tires over 7 years old. Like Jeff said. Some recommend as little as 5 years. UV breaks down the compound. If they were stored in the dark and look OK then they have some life. I just wouldn’t go racing.
The tires look mint. Just seem a little hard. They are MT Baja claws 33x12.5. Ill run and see what happens.
that is pretty much all you can do just make sure you have a spare tire and jack handy. from a professional point you will be good a hard tire will offer less grip in corners, you may have to get them hot to loosen the compound back up and have normal tires.
