Anyone in Ri know of a machine shop that can turn down some axle tubes cheap?
m working on making a 60/44 axle. Will need to turn down the diameter of the 60 tubes to put in the 44 center section and then get a pair of 60 spider gears turned down to the size of 44 spider gears.
In the end hope to have dana 60 35 spline axle shafts, dana 60 knuckles with a 44 ring and pinion.
mike whats the tube diameter of the tubes and length of them.the shop i worked at for 15 years mite be able to turn them.let me know i can stop in on the way to work.There in woonsocket and ill bet it will be supper cheap if they still got the no 3 engine lathe
I will get some sizes for you. Largest tube diameter size is no more then 3.25" not sure on the length.
I don’t know where you are located, but my friend owns a machine shop in Perryville (Charlestown area) and does pretty much anything.
