jk width?

I’m considering mounting a plow to the jk for this coming winter.
I’m curious if anyone knows how wide a jk is, (or if you’ve got one if you could measure it real quick for me) when its running 35s, I know there is some variation based on back spacing and axles and stuff. So close enough is good for me. I just want to make sure I price out a plow wide enough for my dreams of the future haha

Factory listed width is 2-door 73.7" and 4-door 73.9"

Ill take a measurement for you at lunch, running 35’s on 4 1/2" back space wheels.

Awesome thanks

The JK Wrangler calls for a 7’ plow. But, with stock tires the 7’ plow doesn’t clear tires when plowing snow. We find better luck with the 7’6" plow. Your Jk is almost full size truck width. And with 35’s, your as wide as a full size.

I run a snowplow shop… and own a JK… so, I have a little experience with this.

Wow, Sorry fever, totally forgot about this, just measured it at 80" so Tex’s numbers line up.

A 7’6" plow at 30 degree plowing angle is only 78". So, you will not be able to fully angle the plow even with a 7’6". Well, that’s the spec on the Boss anyway… as they angle to a full 30 degrees. The Fisher plow is a hare wider at full angle only because it doesn’t angle as far. The Jeep does a nice job plowing… but, wide tires aren’t very good in the snow. You may need some extra weight in the back.

The lighter Homesteader plow from Fisher has it’s bonus of being light… but, it sacrifices in strength. An additional bonus of the homesteader is that the mounting kit comes off the truck easier if you wish to use the truck for offroad as well as plowing. But, either way, I would still remove the entire mount before 4 wheeling with the Jeep.

Thanks guys, I’m still snooping around for the right model. I’m going to go check out a stainless snowdog that online lists as wide as 8feet at 439 lbs. I’m sure I’ll have to beef up some things

I plowed for years with a ranger and a Curtis plow but I hated the style of hookups and how the hydolics where mounted. The homesteaders arnt worth anything to me I’ve seen too many of them just fall apart for me to want one.

Also right now is stock, but I do plan on picking a set of winter tires if I find a plow, I had studs on my YJ and she carried me through the heart of Nemo. 16 hours shuttling nurses around wile it blizzards with a ragtop is why I bought the jk haha

Please don’t put a plow on a Jeep!

^^^What he said!^^*

The way my brain works. Plow = $$$ = goodies for jeep.
Plus the extra use will force me to “upgrade” parts to handle the strain all winter
