Inclinometers - opinions?

I am still new enough to wheeling that it scares me even when it shouldn’t. I was thinking maybe an inclinometer would help boost my confidence. Has anyone used one of these before? Do they work well?

there are a few apps for it for smart phones and iPhones. Bottom line is its a distraction…

As a general rule you will not be leading a trail if you don’t have enough experience to do so. If you are are in a line of 10 or more Jeeps and the first 3-5 go thru a section without a flop or roll chances are, unless you hit the gas instead of the breaks (i.e. something silly) as uncomfortable as off camber may be you’re not likely to roll… just my opinion…

There is a reason why I always jump out and let my daughter drive when the going gets tough . . .

Inclinometer is not a useful indictor of anything on the trail. Under static loading conditions on a flat surface it could tell you when a roll will start as the surface is rotated. On the trail under dynamic loading where the vehicle is moving and the suspension is in motion its a completely different phenomenon.

I didn’t know there was anything you considered tough!

I’ve seen Eric pucker a few times! And those didn’t involve fire coming off the back of his rig[emoji41]

I bought one and first time I went out with it, I threw it into the back of my Jeep. Totally useless when you are moving on a trail.

I have one on my dash…more a novelty than anything else. I don’t use it to crawl.
