first jeep - from narragansett

Your right Chris, I am running on a 3.5" Fab Tech lift. Very rigid in the beginning but eventually flexes. It has the double military wrap leaf springs which are virtually bullet proof! Eric, Fab Tech has been around for many years and yes, they are the gold standard for YJ leafs. Sgiblin80, your more than welcome to check out my rig before you make a decision.

according to Jeff from crown if you call Rusty’s to order the shipping is more realistic to the part

dont invite eric then, he usually is leaning against something drinking beers…he even wore jeans and a button up shirt one night he came to “help”.

i will soon have for sale rough country 2-1/2" spring lift, 1-1/4" shackles along with the rc shocks…would like to get $200. like eric said, rough country seems to be a good entry level lift. you would just need a transfer case drop or sye. i am upping to rustys 4" springs with MORE 5/8" boomerang greasable shackles. just waiting on the shackles to arrive.

Depends on budget and abuse you plan on doing to it. I went with BDS because of their no questions asked warranty. I bent a leaf last yr. sent it back and got new one right away. Started out stiff like Fabtech then settles nicely. Also has military wrap on leafs. Wasn’t a fan of the ride rough county gave. BDS more pricey but IMHO worth it. I got 3.5 with 1" Body and 5/8 boom shackle. Fit 35s no prob

There ya go. The WhyJ experts have weighed in.

forgot me  ,I do have a RC 4" lift, & will be replaceing them this summer. good entry level like the guys said. rough ride(but it is a YJ ) just not happy with how the rear springs have settled out. I am going with BDS. although I did have a broken rear spring, Ryan @ RC warranteed it no problem. save your money & buy a good kit to start with.

Thanks anyway for the tips guys but the yj need 4k in repairs :frowning: so no jeeping for me!

phew… $4K ? what do you need to get done?

frame is no good and a few minor mechaincal issues. I got the Jeep for free so I can’t complain. I’ll prob bring it to Jeeps unlimited and see how much I can get.

how no good is no good?
Like this, or worse

I would say a worse. I couldn’t really tell until I saw it on my mechanics lift. It needs repair on most of the frame and drivers floor pan to be safe. It was actually bending when it was on the lift. If anyone wants to buy it as a parts jeep before I bring it to jeep unlimited let me know. It runs really well and the 4x4 works well. I also have a complete soft top, frame, jeep side hardware, lower hard doors, soft upper doors and a bikini top for sale. Thanks

Does it have a 6…and what color on the soft top. I may take that off ur hands

The jeep is a 4.0l 6cy auto. The top is tan/spice made by mopar. If you want some pics and the price let me know.

is it the factory soft top even those are made by bestop at least the newer ones are

I was told mopar? but I can check tomorrow if you want.

How many miles on the engine

108,000

Bingo!!!

mmmmm, tempting, but…

i wish i had the space because i would take it.
