One more thing is your steering bar straight?
cause if not that could cause your alignment to be off and that in return cause you a “DW”
the tie rod it’s self? i just replaced it
hope the rotation/ alignment fixes it… death wobble sucks
Besides vibration/wobble between 45-50 how does it feel? Whenever I’ve had shimmy (death wobble) you could more-or-less feel it a little at all speeds and then hitting certain bumps just right, especially bridge joints on the highway, would set it off. If you are only feeling this between certain speeds then imbalance in the tires or driveline could very well be part of the problem.
Just recently, after installing my new suspension I had a bad case of shimmy. Really could not drive more than 50 on the highway without feeling like it would lose control on every bump. Once I installed the steering stabilizer and adjusted the toe (which was off by alot) the problem was solved. As long as you have a few degrees postive caster I think it should be OK.
just drove the truck back from the shop. the tire balance made a huge difference. the guy was busting my balls that i used up all of his weights. the tires were off by pounds in a couple spots. tax returns cant come soon enough… new tires, rims, a lift new axles… i cant wait for next year.
glad you found your problem
