Broke both upper rear shock bolts

1997 XJ

I broke both of the upper shock bolts on the rear driver side shock. Haven’t attempted the passenger side bolts yet.

Any ideas what I can do now?

Knock them out with a punch there only tack welded nuts.my hand can fit in the hole right beside it and nut and bolt it .this is how mime is text me mark 5087282164

Yup that’s about all you can do.

We have all been there. The punch is the best bet.

BTW, Grand Cherokees don’t have this problem!!

Either does my XJ now cuz it has ZJ mounts

we tried to drill through BarefootBobs when we did his lift on his TJ, come to find out we should have just punched them through
