Crown sells a kit. I think its in the $400 range. Similar to the Teraflex kit which is in the $500 range. I’m running the Teraflex kit on my D44.
It is also possible to adapt discs from a c-clip axle (D35/D44a) from later ZJ’s but you need to get a spacer machined to get the proper wheel bearing preload. Billavista did a write up here:

What parts do i need to find to do the ZJ swap? I’ll check the writeup out and see if it is within the scope of my abilities. I am fairly sure i can get someone who works in a shipyard to machine the spacer for me winks at all the gov shiyard guys
Caliper brackets, calipers, pads, dust shield, e-brake hardware, and e-brake cables. The calipers are good for cores. Reman’d calipers cost like $20 with the cores. Get the spacer machined up according to Bill V’s specs and bolt them on. Drum brakes normally have some residual pressure so you may need to pull the RPV (if they even use them on TJ’s) or else the rear brakes will drag a bit.
go to the junk yard pull the whole axle out from the zj and then you have all the parts make sure you take the ebrake cables to.
Ruggieri Auto in West Warwick has a bunch of ZJ D35 rear axles with disc brakes for $125. 401-828-5530. Make sure they include the calipers. Most rear axles I’ve bought did not have the calipers.

Yeah I’ll take a look at the cost comparison. Looks like it’ll be about $450 for a junked D35 conversion, vice about 650 for a “TJ” conversion…
The calipers are the bitch.
I am not sure if there’s a proportioning valve on TJ’s, does anyone know and if so, is that something I’ll need to alter as well? The build said something vague about it.
grand cherokee rear axles at the u pull are like 100. This weekend everything is 50% off so around 50 for a rear axle.

mike on here (98xj) has been using zj disc conversions from jeeps unlimited for years with good results.
