If this will help you any, last fall I had just about same issue as you by the way you’re describing it, well this is what happen to me, noise when on for quite some time and I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from even asked other buddies of mine and they couldn’t either, till one day my input seal blew, but drove it home towing a trailer and cooked the tranny, came to find out after putting in a new one that the input shaft bushing had shattered and blew the seal, good luck
