2016 Arnold Mills July 4th Parade

We have been invited to attend the Arnold Mills July 4th parade once again this year. It is held on the 4th (Monday).

Plan is to meet at the Showcase Cinema on Route 1 in North Attleboro (right off 295) at 9:15 and roll out at 9:30. We need to be lined up for the parade route by 10:00 so we avoid the road race. Parade starts at 11:00. There will be plenty of time to decorate your jeeps once we get to the staging area.

Here is more info on the parade: arnoldmillsparade.com/

I’m hoping to get another good turnout for this… it’s a great way to get our name out into the community. Start buying big bags of candy now. We bought over $60 worth last year and were out half way through!

OK… so lets have some fun with this…

Lets each pick a different theme for our jeeps and decorate them! I think it would be fun and the kids would love it. We should have about an hour from the time we get to the line up to the time the parade starts - that should be a good time to “spruce them up” and make them parade ready. Perhaps even get a trailer turned into a float??? Lets hear your ideas.

Last year we won an award for favorite floats… can we do it again?

Who’s in???

  1. Stacey and Mike
  2. JJ
  3. Laura
  4. Jamie and Lindsay
  5. Jay (maybe)
  6. Tad
  7. Nick
  8. Mike and Laura
  9. Will
  10. Steve and Kat
  11. Frank
  12. Dorenes30
  13. mudpuppy9
  14. NelsonATC

We are not 100% able to commit just yet, but I think we can do it…

Idea for my 8X10 trailer:

lawn chairs, shrubs (could be fake) and as many stuffed animals as possible for “Jeep Safari”, one person in the topless LJ throwing candy while holding the roll bar and wearing a safari helmet, some US flags and a spot for the OSJ banner if there isn’t one yet.
…amber wig-wag strobes of course

Makes sense to tow our club trailer since it is a rolling banner as part of the convoy.

these are just ideas mind you. If we can make it, I will pledge my Jeep and 8X10 trailer to execute whatever we want to do.

I definitely think some sort of float would be awesome. Will volunteer my car hauler if necessary. We just need a pretty truck (or Jeep) to tow it.

I’m in

Me and Lindsay are in this year save the tata

Hauling the OSJ trailer is a good idea

I will also offer up my trailer if a second one is desired

I’d like to go but am unsure at this time

Will be there might do a Olympics theme.

Should we try to do a float? I was thinking ramps on opposite corners made up to look like rocks with music or something.

I’m in for the parade ! Paper mache is real easy. I’m not sure what my theme will be yet.

Me and Laura will be there.

I should be able to make it have to check work schedule to make sure I have it off.

Edit: Have day off Red-White and Blue bringing trailer

Me and Kat are in!!!

Although I am not a “member” yet, I have applied for membership. Regardless, if you’ll have me, I, my CJ7, and my grand kids are in. As a Cumberland resident and a jeep owner I felt I should offer my services.

Save me a space for the Arnold Mills Parade. I will be returning next Monday for 2nd straight year in a row. Last year we captured 4th place because of teamwork. I think we can do better this year.

Eric and I are in

Looks like we are in for sure now. I won’t have my trailer, but I can volunteer to tow something, or just drive around and throw candy…

This is somewhat up to Ricky though, as he has the jeep on the rack right now cutting my tub at the moment…

I will be there with some of my family!!
Wouldn’t miss being in my hometown parade!!!

Yes…

I will probably do a birthday theme as my daughter, Hayley turns 9 on 4th of July

Will have my Green Trailer if float idea is still up in air. Also can adapt a climbing harness and ratchet straps into a anchor point for a rider.

Regrettably Jackie, I and the grand kids will not be able to participate in this event. My steering upgrade resulted in some part delivery delays due to the holiday so it is, in my opinion, not safe. Sorry, but so goes the restoration of a classic. :frowning:
