I once saw these custom lower control arms on an xj. they should be pretty cheap to fab up
thats stupid! I would have used oak
I’ve got some preAsure treated kicking around that way they won’t rot as fast
Got my newer center console today thanks to Glenn (mypantera)
Finally starting to get back in the mood for jeep work… time is tight though, been pulling wicked OT at work lately.
Installed a new head light switch, connected the e-break to coincide with the console swap i started a few months ago, & while i had the dash torn apart I painted the surround & console.
Also mocked together a knuckle/caliper to see if there would be any rubbing on the inner rim before i put it all together. Needless to say i need to grind a little off the calipers
What are you running for wheels?
the stock 15" for now than i have a set of these
84 D Series, Steel, Black, 15 in. x 8 in., 5 x 4.5 in. Bolt Circle, 3.750 in. Backspace
dont need to take much off. no more than 3/32
I am running the same wheel an they clear.
It’s just rubbing the paint a bit but i want to prevent future problems if i can
why not get the right wheels the first time dont grind the calipers.
because i don’t feel like selling the wheels & 33’s i just bought to go on them
its really minor, almost like they didn’t clean up the calipers that well after casting
& some super custom access holes for my rear upper shock mounts
3 days and still not done.
Problem after problem
its all ways something…i had the same kind off problems…good luck
i broke my shock bolts yesterday .i just air hammered them out and nut and bolted them can get right at them no need to cut the floor 10 min total .took us 6 hrs for the 12 bolts for the control arms and springs torches are your friend .just finshed up total time for 4.5 install 14 hrs

I wish the shock bolts broke, instead all the heads rounded off so i went in through the cargo but 90% of the time has been cutting through all the factory hardware that was seized in the sleeves.
finished mounting, “balancing” and set the bead on my 33x12.5 r 15 mud rovers
I should be able to button everything up enough to drive her tomorrow.
Going to order my new stabilizer tonight also so i can do my steering upgrade soon.
Still have the Wj steering conversion to do when my new stabilizer comes in.
and put in my t-case drop (i really don’t want to) but i have limited options with the 242 unless i swap in the t-case from the tj & add an sye
Looking good!
Jeep is coming along very nicely!!!
What a difference from the first time I saw it. Looks great!
