Bought myself a 2006 tj yesterday. Going to pick it up tomorrow or Tuesday. Pumped! I’ve wanted a jeep for forever. Going to be a blast. I’m only here until probably the end of May but I look forward to wheelin with you guys until then. I used to go mudding a few years back down in Texas but I’ve never owned a 4x4 or done any trail stuff. As for the tj, It’s stock as far as the important stuff. Some tube bumpers and lights but that’s it. I don’t have huge plans for it as it’s going to be my daily driver but it could definitely stand to grow a few inches
I haven’t taken the jeep to a mechanic for a good hard look yet. Any recommendations in the Cranston area?
Congrats on the new jeep, and welcome to OSJ
Welcome
Welcome. Be sure to e-mail in an application:

Once received you will have access to the Events forum. You should be able to squeeze in a handful of trail rides between now and May. Next trail ride is January 12th.
I don’t have any shop recommendations in Cranston. I use Post Road Auto in North Kingstown.
Welcome
I’d go with a skid row engine skid, a budget boost and some 31’s and you should be able to get around pretty well. As far as shops go… I usually go to Firestone at the Warwick mall.
welcome to the forum.
Welcome.
I use L’Europa on Smith Street in North Prov. 401-353-1750
Chris has always treated me fairly
Welcome to the forum I usually run the bin with the dealer for possible recall issues. I would suggest going to Prior Auto on Charles Street in Providence. Bill Is a big time Jeep lover and goes wheeling with his as often AS possible. Also please full out that app for the club it is well worth the fun.
Welcome! You may not have “plans” to do anything right now - but it won’t be long before you catch the fever!
I highly agree, I originally just wanted a simple life and more aggressive tread on my tires. Now I am price out 6"’ long arm lift on 33" tires with a heavy bumper front and rear. Yeah upgrade cost went up drrastically .
Welcome, btw I work for Tasca haha, Cranston Tasca?
Cranston tasca. That’s the one. I didn’t end up buying it after all. Guy kept screwing around and timing just didn’t work out. I had signed the papers and the electronic check from my bank was done and they still wouldn’t let me have the jeep which I needed to get around for the holidays. I had already made 2 trips up there. Instead I went and bought a 92 yj off craigslist. It’s got more rust than I thought at first but oh well…it was a tenth of the price!
I did get registered and I’ll see you guys out there this weekend
welcome and good luck with the YJ… Jeeps are know for thier rust around here… good thing is… its fixable (most times)
Safe T Cap is a good resource if you dont have the skills to do it up yourself
